Meet Sue
Sue joined the team as a Sr. Relationship & Operations Manager in March 2009, bringing with her a wealth of experience, a passion for fostering strong client connections, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. She attended Northern Michigan University and is also a 2001 graduate of the prestigious Lake Superior Leadership Academy. Her educational background laid a solid foundation for her professional endeavors, equipping her with the skills necessary to excel in her role.
Before joining the current organization, Sue amassed a diverse range of professional experiences that have equipped her with the skills needed for her role. She began her career at the Marquette Chamber of Commerce (LSCP) where she was able to participate in customer service training through the Disney Institute. This experience further shaped her philosophy of placing customer service at the highest priority in every interaction and she gained invaluable insights into community engagement and client service. Following her time at the Chamber, Sue took on the role of General Manager at a local hotel and restaurant, where she honed her leadership and management skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. Additionally, she served as an office manager for a firm in San Diego, further broadening her expertise in organizational operations and client interactions.
Outside of her professional commitments, Sue is actively involved in her community. She is a dedicated volunteer board member for the Ore to Shore Mountain Bike Epic, contributing her organizational skills and enthusiasm for outdoor activities to promote this popular cycling event. Sue is also passionate about gardening and is an active member of the U,.P. Master Gardeners Association. Her love for nature extends to her involvement with the Superior Beekeeping Club, where she shares an interest in sustainable practices. Additionally, she volunteers with Superiorland Pet Partners, participating in the testing of therapy animals to help ensure they meet the criteria for providing comfort and companionship to those in need.
In her personal life, Sue enjoys reading, Scrabble, and values spending time with her family and enjoys nurturing her garden. As a Notary Public, she also offers her services to the community, further underscoring her commitment to supporting others in various capacities. With her extensive background, community involvement, and a genuine dedication to fostering relationships—anchored by a strong commitment to exceptional customer service—Sue remains a vital asset to her team and the community at large.
