Meet Thom

Thom Hall has been advising families and businesses on mitigating risk and managing wealth for more than 30 years. He serves as a current Managing Director, Partner, and Wealth Advisor at Carson Wealth. In 2000, he founded Thom K. Hall Financial Group, serving families and businesses for many years before merging with Signal Wealth in 2018 and becoming a Carson Wealth office in 2022.

Thom thrives when building a customized, values-driven, and client-centered plan for those he serves. He works hard to understand the personal values, goals, and intentions of his clients. Thom believes that financial planning is about a person’s values, not just their money. He focuses on safeguarding families’ assets and developing the right plan for them to minimize tax obligations, plan a careful retirement or succession plan, adjust for market volatility, and carefully balance risk. He is thoroughly trained and experienced working with corporations and federal agencies.

Thom completed requirements to become a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional through the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc in 2002. He is also a Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) and served as the past president and board member of the Utah Chapter of the Financial Planning Association. As a Certified Exit Planner® (CExP®) through the Business Enterprise Institute, Inc., he currently works with business owners to help them increase the value of their business for when they exit or sell, and in helping prepare them to transition from ownership.

Thom is a resident of Draper, Utah. He and his wife, Liz, have six wonderful children and one son-in-law. He devotes his free time to his family, his church and his neighborhood, the outdoors and any project that involves building, problem-solving and engineering. He loves an adventure, learning, and experiencing new things. Thom is an avid reader, and consistently strives to live and work mindfully and with intention on positive growth. He recently earned his private pilot’s license so be sure to look for him in the Utah skies!
