Written about Lori Knighton
Director of Operations,
Registered Administrative Assistant
Fifteen years ago, several amazing things happened:
- The first Apple iPad was released
- Uber and Instagram were both launched in 2010
- The world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, officially opened in Dubai
- Lady Gaga wore a “meat dress” at the MTV awards ceremony
- Angry Birds lead many people to countless wasted hours of gameplaying
- AND… Lori Knighton started working for Thom Hall
Since that time, Lori has worked like no other. Her commute alone is long enough that, in the beginning, Thom did not think she would work for long. But Lori began with that first shocking show of loyalty, commuting for an hour each way.
Next, Lori shocked the office with her work hours! She is organized before the Stock Market is open, so at about 5:00 a.m., she is heading to the office to make sure your money is handled carefully and efficiently. Her attention to detail is exactly what you want from any Operations department, but did we mention she IS the department? Lori does it all!
Another impressive quality that Lori frequently demonstrates is an incredible memory. She remembers clients, their families, and how their money is allocated, without referring to notes or looking up accounts on her computer. Time and time again we will be discussing a situation, she will mention an important fact (which we never doubt) but double check to follow best practices, to again acknowledge her incredible mind for details.
And all of this is truly impressive, but may not have been celebrated so joyfully, if Lori were not the kind, patient, thoughtful, loyal, friend and co-worker that she is. Consequently, in honor of her 15 years, we held a party to recognize her loyalty. It was secretly disguised as a “Processes Meeting” and everyone, including Lori’s family, planned their day around this special “meeting” to celebrate this 15-year anniversary. It was almost as fun as going to Disneyworld (wink, wink).
Thank you, Lori! We understand that someday you will retire… but we also know that we can never replace you.
